About

Dr. Cohen has devoted her career to helping children and families with special needs. After graduating cum laude from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor with a BA in Psychology, she went on to pursue Masters and Doctoral degrees in Clinical-Child Psychology at Wayne State University. Dr. Cohen then completed an APA-approved internship at the Children's Hospital of Michigan, followed by a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at Beaumont Children's Center for Human Development (CHD). She remained on staff at Beaumont's CHD for the next twenty years, eventually serving as the Director of Evaluation Services, including the Approved Autism Evaluation Center (AAEC), before leaving Beaumont/Corewell in January of 2024. She also maintained an Assistant Professor (Clinical Focus) appointment in the Oakland University William Beaumont (OUWB) School of Medicine. Dr. Cohen is regarded as one of the foremost experts in the state in the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. She is currently serving on the Autism Alliance of Michigan Medical Advisory Board. Fee-for-service (out-of-network) provider. A detailed invoice will be provided so families can seek reimbursement from their insurance provider. Fees will be reviewed in detail before services are rendered. For families seeking ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) testing, evaluations are comprehensive and will therefore allow full (rather than bridge/temporary) insurance authorization for treatment coverage should a diagnosis of ASD be confirmed, and ABA be recommended.
